RICHMOND: ADVANCED Motivational Interviewing for Home Visitors (December 6, 2024)

This advanced training is designed for home visitors with foundational knowledge of motivational interviewing (MI) who are ready to deepen their expertise. Participants will explore advanced MI techniques to navigate challenging conversations, strengthen engagement, and foster lasting behavior change with families. Through interactive activities, role-playing, and real-world scenarios, trainees will gain practical strategies to enhance their confidence and effectiveness in supporting families on their journeys.

This training is only for staff who maintain a caseload, have been in their position for at least 12 months, are actively using MI skills in their daily work or interactions, and completed the introduction to MI training within the last two years. 

Early Impact Virginia has a strict no-show policy in order to continue providing trainings at no cost to home visiting programs in the Commonwealth.
