VIRTUAL Foundations for Family Support/FSS Core: November 9 - 13, 2020

PLEASE NOTE: This training is currently offered on an invitation-only basis. Please do not register for this training if you did not receive an invitation from Laura Shoaf. Any uninvited registrations will be cancelled. Healthy Families Virginia, in partnership with Families Forward Virginia, presents virtual Foundations for Family Support (FFS) Core training. The Foundations for Family Support training is an in-depth, formalized training required for all home visitors, supervisors and program managers. The training outlines the specific duties of the home visitor in their role within Healthy Families. Topics include, but are not limited to: trauma informed practice, communication skills, assessing, addressing, and promoting positive parent-child relationships, creating a trusting alliance with families, goal setting, and strategies to enhance family functioning, address difficult situations, and ensure healthy childhood development. Training for all participants is from Monday, November 9 through Friday, November 13. Please note that we WILL be meeting on Veterans' Day (11-11-2020). This training is VIRTUAL and involves a combination of live sessions and self-directed activities. Participants will be required to join live sessions with a webcam; additional information regarding the virtual format and schedule will be emailed to attendees prior to the training. The trainer facilitating the course is Laura Shoaf. Cost for this training is $540 per person. The required training manual is included in the registration cost and will be mailed to participants. Supervisors and Managers will also complete an additional Supervisor Core training day; this training will be scheduled separately and will require a $50 fee for the training and manual. Invoices are available upon request. Unless there is an emergency, full refunds will only be issued with a cancellation of 14 days in advance of the training date.
