HFA Implementation Training: May 7-9, 2019

MAY 07, 2019
8:30 am EDT

Healthy Families Virginia is pleased to host a HFA Implementation Training in Richmond. This training is designed for Program Managers who are newer to their role, but can also benefit any Program Manager who wants to be up-to-date with all HFA standards. Think of it like HFA boot camp (with some fun thrown in!) - an opportunity to become intensely immersed in HFA, the expectations of the model, and the responsibilities of an HFA leader, all while developing relationships with National Office staff. Participants will also receive an HFA Site Development Guide, newly updated, and access to other resources aimed at making a Program Manager's work a bit easier. Those attending the training will: • Become familiar with the HFA mission, vision, goals and logic model, • Understand the benefits and processes of HFA affiliation and accreditation, • Learn the building blocks needed for program infrastructure, i.e., target population, staffing patterns, budgeting, community partnership and advisory group, Quality Improvement (QI) processes (process and outcome data, etc. ), and • Learn strategies for assuring quality implementation the HFA Best Practice Standards HFA Implementation Training is required within 18 months of hire for all Program Managers hired on or after 01-01-2018 and is strongly encouraged for ALL Program Managers, regardless of hire date. The training is typically held in Chicago and costs $750 for training registration, in addition to travel expenses. For this one-time in-state training, Healthy Families Virginia is covering the registration fee for all participants and bringing the HFA trainers to Richmond, significantly reducing travel expenses for sites. Space in the training will be limited and registrations will be prioritized for Program Managers/Directors hired on or after 01-01-2018, other Program Managers/Directors, and then other staff (Program Supervisors, etc.) as space allows. Recently hired Program Managers/Directors who do not attend this in-state training in May 2019 will have to travel to Chicago at a future date in order to fulfill this HFA training requirement. Registration Prioritization: Because space in this training is limited, registrations will be prioritized as follows: * Now – March 15: registration is open ONLY for Program Managers/Directors. Note that if registrations are submitted during this time for any other staff (supervisors, administrators, etc.), their registration will be cancelled. * March 18 @ 8:00 am: any remaining training slots will be opened for other staff (supervisors, etc.) who may want to attend. Those registrations will be on a strictly first-come, first-served basis. * April 22: registration closes Please see supplemental materials for more detailed instructions about registration, hotel information, and venue information.
