This classroom-based, interactive training will teach home visitors best practices for working with pregnant and parenting adolescents. They will explore their own values, beliefs and biases about serving pregnant and parenting teens and will identify ways to use this information to improve home visiting services. Participants will learn the differences between teen and adult parenting and learn to identify and respond to mental health issues in teens. The training also covers risk and protective factors, basics of adolescent development and learning styles.
Please print the associated handouts/materials (listed to the right) and bring them with you on the day of the training. The training takes place from 9 am - 4 pm. Early Impact Virginia has a strict no-show policy in order to continue providing free trainings for home visiting programs in the Commonwealth. If for any reasons you cannot attend this training ahead of the specified date, please cancel your registration or email Alison Markow (amarkow@earlyimpactva.org) prior to the start time. Thank you!
