Abingdon: Healthy Moms, Happy Babies

OCT 24, 2018
10:00 am EDT

This classroom training provides a comprehensive model of public health prevention and intervention to improve health and safety for victims of sexual and domestic violence. The training teaches home visitors how to screen mothers/women for domestic violence (DV) using the evidence-based Relationship Assessment Tool, provide safety planning, and make referrals that meet federal benchmark requirements. As a result of the training, home visitors will have assessment strategies and tools, training curricula, educational materials, and policy/procedure guidance to better identify and provide support and referrals to individuals and families impacted by sexual and domestic violence. Early Impact Virginia has a strict no-show policy in order to continue providing free trainings for home visiting programs in the Commonwealth. If for any reasons you cannot attend this training ahead of the specified date, please cancel your registration or email Vashti Shiwmangal (vashti@earlyimpactva.org) prior to the start time. Thank you!
