Futures without Violence Healthy Moms Happy Babies Domestic Violence Training - August 3, 2021

AUG 03, 2021
9:00 am CDT

Attend this training to learn techniques and obtain resources and tools to help home visitation staff and DV/SA advocates address the complex and sometimes uncomfortable issue of universally screening for domestic violence as well as to increase your understanding of how vicarious trauma impacts our work. Our goal in sharing this information is so that 1) local communities will build/maintain a strong collaborative partnership between home visitation programs and DV/SA advocates to better serve families, as well as, 2) that every home visitation program will integrate this curriculum into their core training and programming to support safe and healthy families, and create futures without violence. The Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies curriculum has been developed by Futures without Violence, formerly Family Violence Prevention Fund, to help all in family support programs work toward improving and meeting federal benchmarks to address domestic violence. Research demonstrates that women in these programs are at high risk for abuse, and that there are evidence-based interventions that can improve maternal and child health, and decreases the risks for unplanned pregnancy, poor pregnancy outcomes and further abuse.
